I don't work for Adobe. And I can't predict what timeline they may be working on. We'll all have to wait...
In the meantime, revert to version 21.4

Thanks Nancy, I realise you don't work for Adobe. This was not aimed at you.
Reverting is not straightforward with an enterprise licence and centrally managed software licencing. <span style="rhetorical">Will anything break that was generated in 21.5?</span>

I understand. Talk to your IT dept admin. They can get you the 21.4 package.

I know this issue has been resolved or found a way to make it work but I cannot believe that the only solution is to revert back to previous version...
I wonder if the issue could be similar to the ctrl+C ctrl+V freeze that Illustrator had in the past 2 weeks?
I have been struggling with Dreamweaver's freezes for longer, but this has to be sorted!
I am losing time and energy on having to shut down and redo all my work every time I open Dreamweaver copy paste code into it and it freezes on the next click...
I have reversed back to previous version for now but Please fix this

Adobe isn't insterested in Dreamweaver any longer. It's like AOL dial-up to them.
I don't use Illustrator much but I will say an update to Adobe Audition around the same time as the Dreamweaver update broke that as well. I had to do the same thing - revert to the previous version. Stable products and technical support have never been strong points for Adobe. I don't typically give up easily and I have on this.

Hi @glenn-p,
Thanks for writing to us. Your message about Adobe not caring for Dreamweaver any longer is not correct, we continue to fully care for Dreamweaver along with other products, and Dw will continue to be part of Creative Cloud. We are actively hearing all our users feedback and commit to keeping the app working on the latest OS platforms and providing key feature upgrades.
We are actively working on resolving the stability issues that multiple users have reported in this forum w.r.t version 21.5 and will release an update soon that will fix the issues on both Mac and Win platforms.
Have a pleasant day!
Thanks,
Nayan

I respectfully disagree. There hasn't been a "feature update" in many years. It's been months since Adobe released this unusable version - which only included third-party security updates, according to the CC update page. I understand why you wouldn't want to admit it in a public forum, but Adobe does not care about this product. Show us ANY evidence that they do and I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong.

Hi @glenn-p,
Thanks for reverting. We understand there haven't been any feature updates in recent years, but we will do what is required going forward. We will surely keep you informed on the next update release for Dw. Thanks for sharing your kind thoughts.
Have a pleasant day!

Nayan

What new features are you looking for? Better bootstrap? A system of drag and drop? What? I am interested in seeing what people are expecting. With AI involved in coding, are you wanting integration? That can be a big project to implement flawlessly.
I don't like that I had to revert and wish I could beta test like I used to do with Macromedia, but at least there is something you can do meantime. The program has been buggy for years, but people are expecting updates and I think some are being rushed out to meet user expectations of the updates.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

A solid first step: no need for flashy new featuresājust repair and modernize what's already there, like PHP and Bootstrap. And please restore essential tools that were quietly abandoned over the past decade, such as Server Behaviors and the Extension Manager.
Another major improvement? Treat Dreamweaver usersāand the developers who contribute valuable extensionsāwith respect, not disregard.

Different tools for different tasks. If that's what you crave, see Bootstrap Studio and Visual Studio Code.
Personally, I hope to see Dreamweaver:
1. Upgrade codeāPHP, JavaScript, CSS and Bootstrap 5.3.
2. Remove jQuery & jQuery UI which have largely been replaced by React & Angular. Most modern sites no longer use jQuery.
3. Add support & snippets for HTMX. OK, I know this going to ruffle a few feathers, but we can't all be React developers. React is complex and so is the learning curve. When you take away jQuery, there's an empty void to fill that HTMX can do nicely with very little overhead & a short learning curve.
What is HTMX? A modern JavaScript library that allows front-end & back-end coders to access browser features directly from HTML. No other scripts required. See HTMX Examples.
That's it. That's my main wish list. š

I noticed Dreamweaver freezes whenever I do "ctrl+C" and "ctrl+V". I wasn't sure at first, but I noticed a pattern whenever I did those keyboard commands on my PC, that Dreamweaver would freeze up.
I still haven't had time to downgrade to 21.4, been so busy with work. However my quick fix for now is still to open the DW program and then close, then reopen again and it won't crash for the entire day... then I do the same thing all over again. Rinse... wash... repeat ;-(

@Nayan_Kankariya earlier this morning I replied back to someone else mentioning Dreamweaver freezing up just like when they said Adobe Illustrator would freeze when using the keyboard command "ctrl+C" and "ctrl+V" and I mentioned that I noticed the same issue when using that command on my PC. Just now while I was in Dreamweaver I used that command and immediatley after I did a "ctrl+V", Dreamweaver freezed and crashed just like it always has
I'm about 90% sure the cause of this freeze/crash issue with Dreamweaver 21.5 for 4+ months now is partially due to when using they keyboard "ctrl+C" and "ctrl+V". Please share this to with IT Support team as this may also help resolve the problem. Thank you!

Yes my DW also crash on my Windows 11 pro, but I let it do it because if I have not lose any work I have not saved, then you restart DW if you not have saved it will recover to that point there it crashed, it's only to save the first thing you do and continue to work. I know it is annoying to do, but it does not matter for me, because I haven't any time press as maybe some of you. I have still not found any desktop app that can replace DW, yes there are many browser apps how can i not interest of them.

This past week, I just purchased a refurbed MacBook Pro, with M4 Max chip, and operating Sequoia 15.6.1. I'd only been learning to use this updated Dreamweaver platform for the last couple days, having been using a 17" Macbook Pro (2011) for as long as I could before 'planned obsolescence' made work on it too difficult. I was effectively using Dreamweaver on that years old. Last night, there was a software update...and Illustrator and Photoshop are still operating, but Dreamweaver crashes on opening. Restarting and going through 'Library' options offered on the platform...nothing gained. Crashes repeatedly...never actually opening to operate for a moment. Totally...bizarre...with the other CC products still working? Anyone else seeing this?

Hi @markvc, @SewerSleuth,
Thanks for writing to us. We apologize for the issue you are facing on your Mac ARM machine with Dw. Yes, we have a known issue on Mac ARM platform where Dw is getting crashed on opening and we are actively working in getting this resolved with the next Dw update. As a workaround, please try below steps and see if the issue gets resolved by installing Rosetta environment which is provided by Apple.
Please invoke Terminal and run the command below to install Rosetta:
You can also refer this Apple article to install Rosetta on Mac ARM machine. Please let us know the outcome of the above workaround else we can have a remote connect session for further troubleshooting and fixing the issue.

Hey @loup34403500, you're not alone in this digital dumpster fire. DW 21.5 has been crashing more than a toddler on roller skates. Page Properties? Hidden like Atlantis. Stability? About as solid as a Jenga tower in an earthquake.
Hereās your emergency survival kit:
And if none of that works⦠Wapplerās looking mighty fine these days. Itās like Dreamweaver, but made by people who still care.
Hang in there. Adobe says a fix is coming. We just donāt know if itās arriving by carrier pigeon or time machine.

I have Dreamweaver v21.5 Build 15662 on Mac and for quite some months now it just hangs and goes completely unresponsive at different times during the day.
All I can do is Force Quit it in the Mac Finder and restart and I lose unsaved work. It can happen almost hourly, sometimes more frequently. Very frustrating.
No updates are available in Creative Cloud.
Any ideas?

Other users have found success in rolling back to the 21.4 release pending a future update as the 21.5 release has been problematic for some.
