Dream weaver version 21. 3 working on Mc 12.6 Monterey. I am having issues with FIND and REPLACE FILES  when trying to chage lage data at one time . Single lines of data changes work ok all site pages are updated.

I have enclosed my small test site to pay with. Its a large sports bowls club web site over 600 pages  I have copied a few lines of data amd made a small testbox site with different content background colours to make checking pages easier. Please try to choose a complete menu option of data ( i.e competions) enter that in the top box of the Find and Replace Files pop up box.

Choose another folder with the same data in it add a line of test e.g TESTBOX TEXT TEST. Copy that page of data as the replace data in the bottom box of the pop up. It only updates the one page . If I change one line of data but using the same mechanisim it all works 600 plus pages are updated.

Thank you

You've lost me.  If F&R replaces text on 600 pages, then what's the problem?

Sorry nancy I may have confused myself and yourself sorry.

if i choose Find and replace with a large data listing (Whole website choice. i.e 600 page ) I find when the process runs it will only update ONE PAGE ONLY the page I used to show the change. If I use the Find (the open page your working on) the edit the data one line added or deleted with new wording then choose REPLACE ( Single page working all 600 pages get the one line of data updated. Why doed teh middle choice whole site replace request is it being ignored, also when to choose the large datbase listing using Find and Replace ( Middle choice whole site option) it does not automaticaly enter the original database info in the top box (Black Backgound of teh Find and replace ( whole site tool) you must copy and paste it

    Thank you for your time.

Ctrl + Shift + F = Find & Replace.  Click on Basic tab.

IN:  Current document = the open document you're working on.     [any tag]

Entire Local Site = the current site folder that's selected from Files panel.

Selected Files = previously highlighted files from Files panel.

Folder = choose one by clicking thr folder icon to the right

Find All = looks for 1st string in all relevant documents.

Replace All = looks for 1st string and replaces with 2nd string in all the relevant documents.

Results are displayed in Search panel (F7).

    Hope that helps.
