How customizable are Google Font Effects (like Emboss, 3D, etc.)

Are they 100% non-customizable?

In other words, can we change the color or length of the shadow under the "3D" effect, or change the "Neon" effect color from fuchsia to something else?

I've always relied on tried and true CSS to style my fonts whether they be from Google, Typekit, Edge or a custom font kit.  Why limit yourself to a handful of fonts when you don't need to?

That said, Google Font Effects are not a secret sauce.  It's all done with CSS code.  And if you know CSS3, you can indeed customize the Google Font Effects as discussed in this article.

Thanks, I'm sure that will be helpful to some, but not quite what I was personally looking for.

I'm looking to customize Google Font Effects like "3D" (which does way more than just add shadow) or "Ridged" -- not simulate them with CSS tricks. As functions, they're either customizable or they're not. Based on all my Googling, it appears they're not.
