Within a set of images I want the user to move from one to the other by swiping on them rather than clicking on" next." How do I do this? I don't even know what the key words are to google a tutorial.

There's nothing in Dreamweaver for this.  But you'll find plugin scripts in jQuery or JavaScript that can do this on touch screen devices.  Below are 2 such plugins.

Swipebox | A touchable jQuery lightbox

PhotoSwipe: Responsive JavaScript Image Gallery

Try looking for css carousel.

Images can be edited in Dw, but i would seriously recommend not doing so, as once done there is no undo function, also the editing options are seriously limited.
