I edit an html file in DW. I use drag and drop pdf file on the file. There is a popup and I save the pdf file to the directory. But as I understand the pdf file is not uploaded to the server and the link at the webpage does not work. How can one fix the issue?

    1. Open your Files Panel (F8) and connect to server.

    2. Select the PDF file.

    3. Click the UP arrow to upload file to remote server.  See screenshot.

It is about uploading the file to under public_html?

The location of the file is irrelevant.  All you should have to do is select the file in DW and upload it as you would the HTML file.  The link should work as soon as the file is online.

Putting a link to a PDF on a web page will do just that it will create a link. In order for DW to create the link if you drag it to the site it must save it to your site directory. Otherwise you would have to use the absolute link path to link to the file (ie: https://domain.com/path/to/file.pdf).

Given the process you are using to add the file to your site, you must upload both the HTML file and the PDF saved within your site in order for the file to work otherwise, I can only assume that that the error you are getting is saying File Not Found.
