http code 500 internal server error

Explorer ,
Jun 04, 2009 Jun 04, 2009

Hi all!

I hope someone can help me out.

A few days ago Windows crashed (some Explorer failure) and I had to restore Vista back on my pc. I also had to reinstall DW CS3. It all used to work fine but now I get an '500 internal server error'. When I fill in the data in the 'manage sites' and I test my connections (both remote and testing server) it connects fine. When I make a new recordset and test it, I get the error:codecrash.jpg

Has anybody had this problem? I do not know what to do anymore.

Thanks in advance, with the best regards from Holland,

Martijn

You may have to delete and re-add all your data sources in IIS data source manager.

Thanks for your reply.

Can you tell me where to find the 'IIS data source manager' or do you mean to delete all my connections in the root and set them up again?

I'm also getting an HTTP 500 error from the server, even though the recordset tested successfully,

and the records were displayed in Live View. The server can process ASP, it displays pages created

with ASPMaker. In your reply, are you referring to the DSN's set up on the remote server?

Thanks.

Joe

Hi,

Yes, I'm referring to the DSN's setup on the remote server.

I'm getting fed up with this bug....

In the meantime I found a post that was very helpful: disable friendly error messages. You get

a detailed reason for the error. In my case, the ASP code that's generated by Dreamweaver uses

.. to reference a parent directory. I replaced that with the full url and I'm in business.

Don't recall where I found that answer, but thank you, someone, now I can concentrate on the next

thing.

Ok, some weeks later and still no solution for this problem. Probably should be looking for an alternative program...

Ok, I think it seems to be Vista what's causing the problem. At my work I tried also and there everything worked fine.

I was using the MX-version. Now I have installed the trial version of CS4. But still the same problem... It can't be only me who is having this issue..

Ok. Tried to make a test connection with my laptop with the trialversion of dw cs4. Still the same internal server error 500. It seems that my router is having problems with Dreamweaver. Anyone had issues with that?
