Image hosting for emails

What is everyone's preferred image hosting service for html emails?  I've tried a couple different ones when I was working with codepen, but links wouldn't go through, etc.  Would you just use some server space, or is there a decent host.  I'm only sending to a limited list right now (and I want to show that I can design emails as part of my job search), so I don't need MailChimp just yet...

ImgUR requires you to right-click on the image after uploading it and depending on your browser you need to choose the right-course of action.  I use FF and when I right-click on the image I get View Image Info.  I choose that.  See this picture:

When you click on View Image info, you get this:

You get the idea.  These days with some knowledge, you can get many things for free.

If you are going to need something more "permanent" then clearly you need to use your own servers.  However, something you want to show to your potential employers then you could use something like http://postimage.org.  It is financed by advertisement but you can avoid all that crap by using the direct link as shown in this picture:

There is also another service called: http://imgur.com  and this too can be used and you can avoid all the advertisements.  Let us know if you want to know how.

Good luck.

Thanks!  I tried imgur when I was working on the codepen project - somehow even the direct links didn't work...  I'll check out postimage...

Yes, I figured that out - it might have been a glitch with codepen, but all I got were broken links...

Most businesses who send regular email blasts have a web site and thus a web server on which to host their site and images.

Adobe's portfolio didn't work either - again, I'm basing that on my experience with codepen...  Postimage did the trick

Nancy, to reiterate:  I'll probably look for a host site eventually.  Meanwhile, I just need cheap, reliable and with easy direct links.  Postimage worked...

If you're doing spec work, you should really have your own web server.

When I need to show a client or prospect my work, I always put it on my own web server.

If it's under NDA (non-disclosure agreement), I go the extra step & password protect the folder so nobody other than the client can see it.
