Image Not showing in Google [Chrome browser]

New Here ,
Jul 06, 2017 Jul 06, 2017

Can anybody tell me why whether previewing or once uploaded  why on desktop I cant see an image in Chrome? If I use Chrome on my phone I see the image. The page in question is stationery designs.

This is the image that should be seen multiple time across the page and two rows in full screen viewAD-Design-ToCome.png

On internet explorer and edge it previews as it should be and I have tried internet explorer live and it can be seen as should be.

I would appreciate somebody telling me what I have missed.

Liz

If you have previously previewed the page in Chrome without the images, (or the image has been changed) then Chrome may be showing the cached page, have you cleared the browser cache.

What image file format are you using?

IE and Edge support file formats some other browsers do not, e.g. tiff.

Yes I have and it shows fine on my mobile in Chrome but not on my laptops. It has totally boggled my mind!

Don't forget that it may be necessary to clear the cache a number of times in Chrome, as each 'cache clear' only deletes a small number of cached files, not all of them.

I have known 10 selections to be required befor the cache is completely cleared.

Many thanks from both of you. I was rather confused as not only will it not show up on desktop once uploaded file but doesn't show from within Dreamweaver preview on Chrome alone!

The Dw preview in Chrome, and the uploaded file to the server will reference the same image file path, causing the same problem with both.

I have just put a fresh installation of Chrome on hubbies computer and it looks a OK. Many thanks sorry for bothering you all. Never realised so many cache cleans could be required. I will try on mine.

Many users have had the same problem with browser cache, especially with Chrome.

Eventually Chrome will use the images if you visit the page often enough, providing it works in other instalations I would simply not worry.

I have this as a shortcut. It is required for nearly every change.

chrome://settings/clearBrowserData

Place the above in the Chrome address bar and clear the cache as per

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

This disables caching in Chrome but only while the developer tools are opened.  So you will need to keep the open while you're working on your sites.

Chrome is annoying to work with regularly.  That why I use Firefox as my default browser.  I also prefer the developer tools in FF.

Looks ok here in Chrome, as Paula suggests, probably a browser cache issue.
