Hi

We are trying to update all acrobat products (Adobe Reader/ Acrobat and Flash) through SCCM and SCUP. We have a few concerns as

a) Do a security update removes all old versions from system and updates to the latest version?

b) Do a upgrade (reader 11) uninstalls all older versions and also whether it support a fresh installatin?

Looking for your valuable suggestions

a) NO.

b) Depends.

You should read the Admin Guide and the Customization Wizard Guide. I am certain you will want to use the Wizard to customize your install. Start wit the Acrobat Enterprise Toolkit http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/.

Hi Ben

Thanks for your input.

I will follow the Admin Guide and will do the customization to upgrade the  Reader.

I have one concern here - with SCUP we published the Adobe Reader XI upgrade and then with SCCM Software Updates we deployed it to a group of test PCs, later we found the msi file with the cache of those systems, but even after a week it's not yet executed or upgraded the systems with Adobe Reader 11. What do you think here? Do you think that this won't work with Windows update? So should we do the customization and push the application to all PCs to upgrade the Reader?

Hi,

I don't understand your question. You should be able to make SCCM aware of the updates via the SCUP catalog and push. Not sure what you mean by "Windows update".

A new update and catalog is coming out shortly, so I'd wait for that.
