Question

Acrobat DC Enterprise Licensing on provisioned Citrix Terminal Server does not work

Hello,

we are trying to install Adobe Acrobat DC on a provisioned Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 Farm.

Installation has been customized using the customization wizard. As described here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/citrix.html

The Installation is working on the Server where the installation originally has been made. User don't get any Online Dialoges Product is activated correctly.

Since this farm is provisioned as described here:

New Server with different Hostnames start from the same Disk.

If users log on to this new Server and start Adobe Acrobat they are presented with a Dialog to Log In as if the application has not been customized or activated.

How can this Problem be resolved? Has someone encountered the same problem or even found a working solution?

Many Thanks for your support in advance

S.Moser

Hey all together

Is there a solution for this yet?

I am also at the same point right now. Just set up a Citrix Farm 7.8 with provisioning services. Created a MSI file with Adobe customization wizard and envoked offline activation, then installed it on the master server.

Then promoted the vDisk version where adobe is installed to the citrix servers. With Administrator, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC opens without problems on all servers. But when I try to open Adobe with a User, the Windows pops up which says:

"Login requested: A login with your adobe ID is nessecary to activate adobe software" (Translated from german).

I Have enough licenses for every server, those are TLP volume licenses.

So how do I get rid off the Login Window at the user's sessions? Maybe provide the login infos via GPO or registry entry?

I don't have access to the enterprise portal, so packager is not an option for me.

If someone got me a solution for this, I would be very thankful!

Best regards

Your product does not think it is licensed so activation was not done correctly I suspect.

Did you take a look at this? : Re: Acrobat DC Enterprise Licensing on provisioned Citrix Terminal Server issues

Hi,

As you are using imaging tools so you would require to use Adobe PRTK (provisioning ToolKit) to license the tool along with --stream option. (Using Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition)

First thing is, make sure you have a Volume License Key for Adobe Acrobat DC. Then download a tool from Adobe called: Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition

1. Open a CMD prompt and navigate to the program folder

2. adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial="<ENTER SERIAL #HERE>" --leid="<ENTER LEID #HERE>" --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress (This will generate a Permanent offline grace - prov.xml file)

3. This prov.xml file should then be loaded along with --stream option to work on an image.

    adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=<ENTER PATH OF PROV.XML FILE> --stream

When you use this image, it should not ask the sign in dialog again on the new server.

Thanks,

Doc: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/licensing.html#imaged-os-deployments

btw, 7.6 is not supported. However, that doesn't mean it won't work, but keep in mind the config is untested.

Hello,

we are having a nightmare with this.

We have created the prov.xml file, ran the serialization command on the gold image.  When loading Acrobat DC on the gold image it works fine.  After the image has been deployed the slaves are not activated so essentially the tool isn't working.

We are running Xenapp 7.6, Windows 2012 R2.

Any other ideas?

thanks
