Adobe Creative Cloud Suite on a server/virtual desktop

We are about to change laptops at our company, however we would like to reduce the capabilities these would require. Hoping to reduce the amount of decentralized hardware we would like to run Adobe Creative Cloud in a server. Is this possible? How would the user experience degrade? How fast an Internet connection would be recommended for the user?

Hi @Ethan30622124xtu2 follow up question regarding your scenario - are you thinking you could install one copy of Creative Cloud for all users to access from a lightweight laptop on a server/virtual connection?

That is not possible. Only one user could access the VDI instance at a time and trying to bypass would violate your licensing agreement.

I would definitely do some discovery - you may find that sticking with upgrading individual hardware is less costly and easier to manage than trying to do something like this which in the end will most likely not work the way you expect and cost a lot more.

Check the system requirements, though. The Adobe apps are not made for lightweight hardware (including virtual hardware). The GPU requirements are particularly strict. This is why most people run specialise design workstations, highly tuned for their workload. Each new release has higher demands too.

Hi @Ethan30622124xtu2 you cannot run Creative Cloud on a server. However you can deploy on a virtual machine interface (VDI) and access from there:
