Adobe Creative Cloud - VMWare VDI Desktops

Hello,

We have a few users using Adobe Creative Cloud applications. The Adobe application is installed in the VMWare VDI desktop. It works great for the most part. However, whenever the VDI desktop gets updated, the %applocalappdata% folder is erased and the adobe creative cloud needs to be reauthenticated using our company email address, run the adobe creative cloud update, and install all the individual applications.

In our observation, if the adobe creative cloud could be installed and used %appdata% folder, this would not be an issue. The %appdata% folder is folder redirected to a network share drive.

Thanks

Correct answer Just Shoot Me

This sound more like a VMWare Virtual Machine, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), problem and really has nothing to do with Adobe.

You should contact VMWare and ask them to NOT delete that folder you reference when they do updates. OR just turn off the Auto Update system for the VM and when doing updates manually Copy and Paste that folder, and file in that folder, back to where it belongs.

Hello, Horizon View has something called Folder Redirection policies. You need to add your %applocaldata% to those folders via a GPO or the DEM.

Thanks for this information. Is there a way to change the default folder for adobe creative cloud to %appdata% folder?

Normally that is the folder the Adobe programs use.

Again this is something that should be taken up with the peopple at VMWare.

I use to use VMWare's Virtual Machine sftware but switched over to Oracle VirtualBox. But I only use it for testing OS updates and running older software that will not run on Win7 & 10.

I gave the only suggestion I have... no other user here knows if/when an Adobe employee will see any message

John, I want to have some suggestions or if Adobe personnel could provide some input on this topic.
