Adobe Customization Wizard 8 Problem

New Here ,
Mar 26, 2008 Mar 26, 2008
I am using the Adobe Customization Wizard 8 to generate a transform file
(MST). Under installation Options if I change the Run Installation to
Unattended or Silently or change the reboot setting to Reboot without prompt
or Suppress reboot, I get an error that the Setup.ini file was not found.
My understanding is I should be able to change these and that the setup.ini
file is not required. If that is incorrect then I would have to ask why the
setup.ini file was not created/copied when the AIP process was done.

Extract the Adobe Reader 8 installation filesExtract the Adobe Reader 8 installation files from the compressed executable:

Download the AdbeRdr_en_US.exe.
Choose Start > Run.
In the Open text box, type: "%UserProfile%\Desktop\AdbeRdr80_en_US.exe" -nos_ne.
Click OK.
When the Adobe Reader 8 Setup screen clears, choose Start > Run.
In the Open text box, type: %temp%.
Drag the Adobe Reader 8 folder to your desktop. This folder contains AcroRead.msi and Data1.cab files needed for installation.

The Setup.ini is within the .EXE you have to extract. I just had to work on this today and came across your post. The above should bring some light on things.

I also ran in to the same issue. When I copied the CD contents to a network location, there was a setup.ini file included. I created the MST and everything worked fine. Then I created an admin install point in another directory. Once I moved the MST to that directory and tried to modify the package again in teh new directory, I got this error. It worked fine from the CD folder. I don't know why this is an issue, because I didn't have this problem with the Acrobat 7 tuner.

Anyway, I just copied the setup.ini from the CD into my admin install point to further edit the MST.
