We are trying to Install Adobe Illustrator CC. After the installation it tells me that the "Adobe IPC Broker doesn't work". I figured out that this only happens if the user doesn't have local admin right. Is there a possible way to get it work without local admin right?
Adobe Applications can only be installed in the Admin account, however, once installed they can work with a standard account as long as the standard user has read and write permission over certain specific folders which tends to get modified and rewrite while you launch and use the program.
You may try the following workaround and see if this helps:
1. Go to Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CC
2. Look for Adobe Illustrator.exe file
3. Right-click on it and go to properties
4. go to the compatibility tab
5. Uncheck the box which says "Run this program as administrator"
These steps don't require disabling UAC. Let me know if this helps.
Can you confirm one more thing please if the package was Named User Self-service package? You need to create a Managed package with Adobe Illustrator and this should work.
Creating a package with a Managed Package option with elevated privileges turned on will allow the user to download and install the CC app even without local admin rights.
Hope this helps.
I don't think this is a solution for us. We are using a software to spread our software packages (we don't want that the users can download manual) but i will take a look and give u a report
