Allowing users to choose apps - VIP device licensing

Hi All,

We've just purchased 100 VIP device licenses.

We have 2 labs that will use up approx 60 licenses leaving 40 free for staff machines, however not all staff will need all the CC apps, some may want a subset of them and not the whole suite.

Is there any way that we can create a package using the CC packager, so that staff can install the CC desktop app and then choose what apps they want to install themselves, or would this need named user licensing, as we'd rather avoid having to create additional packages or have to install the whole suite on each users machine where they may only want a couple of the apps

Hi, I would definitely NOT recommend to use the Creative Cloud Desktop App for device licensing, in fact don't add it to your package. The reason is that if users sign in with an Adobe ID with no entitlement, it will break the device license and they will be faced with trial versions.

thanks for that Alisterblack, last time I dealt with Adobe installations in enterprise was back in the cs3 / cs4 days with individual products so the whole CC and packaging is a bit new to me...

I think in our case we'll just stick with a single package with all the CC apps and one for just the acrobat package and if anyone wants just a couple of apps we will just install the whole suite
