When trying to install Adobe after effects on my new macbook pro, I am getting the following message. "Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before installing this product.  Please close other installers."  I do not have anything else running.  I have shut down my system and upon starting up again, immediately try the install.  I get the same message.  Any suggestions?

Launch the Task manager to "Show processes from all users" and make sure there's no other installer running as user type "System". Check for the "Windows installer" service and end the task. Also, confirm if any third-party app or Windows update is not installing updates.

Fix windows installer issues

1. Open Task manager

2. go to details section of task manager

3. Click on Any process and press the S key on your keyboard to move to the s section of active processes.

4. Once in the S section, please look for SETUPCHIPSET.EXE or installer service, you will see 3 or 4 of these right next to eachother.

5. Right click on any of the SETUPCHIPSET.EXE that you see.

6. Click on open file location.

7. Go back to task manager, right click on SETUPCHIPSET.EXE once again. click on end process TREE.
You will see a prompt asking what you would like to do. Click end process TREE again.

8. Go back to the folder that opened when you clicked on open file location. Highlight SETUPCHIPSET.EXE. Hold Shift and Delete to permanently delete this file.

You should now be able to install programs with out the another installer is running notice.

My IT people for my pc suggested this and I had no issues since
