Hi all,

I am looking for some advice on using Adobe in a AVD environment. Users have Adobe Acrobat Pro licenses and are using these to login locally on their devices however, when trying to login from within a AVD session they are hitting the device limit. What would you recommend we do to license users when accessing Adobe from within their AVD session? As we already have Acrobat Pro licenses would we need to purchase a further license or completely change our licensing to allow users to use Adobe outside of an within AVD?

Many thanks,

Sophie

I just wanted to say that DEVnet is outdated on this topic and needs to be updated.  App-V is going away by Aprial 2026.  Most customers have moved or moving to MSIX.  App-V is a different product than AVD.

AVD- Azure Virtual Desktops are a comprehensive desktop and app virtualization service running in the cloud.

App-V - Microsoft App-V supports the virtualization of applications, making them available to end users without an installation.

There is no dedicated page for AVD deployment on DEVnet.

Are there plans to create a dedicated page for Azure Virtual Desktop?

I work for an MSP and we are increasingly moving all our Citrix / RDS clients into AVD, so dedicated documentation would go a long way to resolving the issues we've faced.
