Hello,
An employee of my company recently left. He was responsible for purchasing and is the likely account admin for our creative cloud portal. I am trying to take ownership of this account, but can't seem to get in touch with anyone from Adobe to assist. Chat doesn't work as I'm not a paid subscriber on my current login. No numbers to call that I can find.

I don't know if Adobe still does support via telephone, but I know that I do not have a number
Have you contacted the former employee to get the login information?
Try X (aka Twitter) tweet @AdobeCare

Thanks John. Unfortunately, the circumstances of the departure led to no handover of duties/roles and we've been unable to connect with the likely admin.

I am just another user so I can't help... X/Twitter is the only option I can provide
If/when you do get this sorted out be sure to keep the details in a secure place so you do not rely on only one person

If they were an employee and I assume you still have ownership of the email domain, can you just re-activate their email address and do a password reset to gain access?

If that user is the contract owner and if he is the only admin of that account, your best chance is to take over his e-mail and try to sign in, by asking for a new password. It depends on the three factor identification if that will be successful.
If you have a second admin (it looks like not), the second admin can ask for help via the admin console. He can take over ownership of the contract. Lesson 1: Never have only one admin for managing your plan. As a side note: the admin does not need to have a plan.
In all other cases, you should call Adobe sales, who will check the solutions at their hand.
