Central Auto update in Creative Cloud

New Here ,
Apr 28, 2025 Apr 28, 2025

Hi! We would like to have a function where Creative Cloud automatically update Adobe apps for all of our users without the users themselves having to toggle the update button. In fact, it would be great if the Auto update could be greyed out so it is only Admin centrally in our company who can decide whether the Auto update should be on or off for our users. This Auto update, (if set to Yes by the company Admin),  should then update any Adobe applications to the newest versions as soon as there is a new version available. Is this something you are working on or planning?

Hi @@sofie_0311 ,

Thank you for reaching out.

Based on your query, it seems you would like Creative Cloud applications to automatically update for all users without requiring them to manually enable the Auto-update option. Could you please confirm if this is the request you need assistance with?

Hi @@sofie_0311 ,

Thank you for reaching out.

Based on your query, it seems you would like Creative Cloud applications to automatically update for all users without requiring them to manually enable the Auto-update option. Could you please confirm if this is the request you need assistance with?

Currently, if you want to allow end users to manage updates themselves, you can create either a self-service package or a managed package with the Enable self-service install option turned on. This allows users to install and update applications directly from the Apps panel in the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Additionally, as an administrator, you can create and apply self-service policies at the product profile level in the Adobe Admin Console to control which applications users can install and update.

Regarding User Managed Policies:

  • If you enable Automatically update all applications, the Auto-update toggle will be visible and available in the Creative Cloud desktop app under Preferences.

For more details, please refer to these documentation links:

If you prefer greater control over the update process and do not want users to manage updates:

  • You can create a Managed package with the Disable auto-update for end users option enabled.

  • You can then use Remote Update Manager (RUM) or Adobe Update Server Setup Tool (AUSST) to centrally manage and deploy updates.

For more information on this approach, see:

Please let me know if you'd like further guidance on setting this up!

Regards,
^AN
