Changing from SDL to Named license

New Here ,
Jan 11, 2022 Jan 11, 2022

If you're in the Education sector or using Adobe Admin Console to manage your user license, you will might came accross this.

The story goes like this. We used to have Shared Device Licenses (SDL) for lab computers and Named licenses (for home users). However, we have changed our MSP who supplies the license to a different one, also Adobe removed the option for the SDL all together. When our old license had expired some of our users started experiencing expired license errors, despite they had the new license assigned and repackaged Creative Cloud apps installed as well. Well, as you have guessed, Adobe is not the pinnacle of managing enterprise environment efficiently. After many wasted hours and testing, we have found all you need to do is to remove the "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\OperatingConfigs" folder and reboot the computer.

The End
