Customization Wizard XI - Offline Exception Issue - Solved

Guest

Hey,

There is a bug in the Customization Wizard XI, when you try the feature "Grant Offline Exception", an unexpected error occurs.

> Reason:

The Application tries to open the "adobe_prtk.exe" at the "old" path - "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Customization Wizard 10"

> Solution (temporarily):

Create this folder and copy the "adobe_prtk.exe" from the Adobe Customization Wizard 11 Folder - you will see it works!

@Adobe: Please fix this bug at the next version.

Thanks for the post. While I tried customization wizard myself without this issue, it would be helpful if you elaborate a bit more on what you tried in steps. What is the product version which you are using and I hope you are using a volume key. Also, please detail out other customizations that you did using CW. Thanks.

Hey,

Yes, we are using a volume key and I transfered the config from 10.0 to 11.0 - so I have installed both versions on the client.

Maybe it's because both versions of the Customization Wizard are installed simultaneously?

Greets, Michael

Hi Michael,

This is not an issue with Adobe Customization Wizard. This occurred probably because you are installing both the versions of the wizard on the same system.

We read the following registry to find the path of 'adobe_prtk.exe' :

"HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\InstallWizard.exe\Path"

It seems that either you have installed/repaired version10 after 11 so that this path has been updated.

It can be solved if you repair Customization Wizard XI.

Thanks,

Vinod
