Device licensed computer asking for adobe ID after software update

Question

I have lab with iMacs that have CC devices licenses installed and operating. Experience Design CC Preview needed an update to keep working. However, after installing the update (on a test machine), it now asked for a Adobe ID. Other attempts on other machines do the same thing. The other CC programs will open and still use the device license. The machines are listed as active in the admin console.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the application multiple times using packages made with the CC packager. I've revoked and relicensed the machine(s). I have used Remote Update Manager too. All with the same results.

"Is Adobe XD available to enterprise customers in Commercial, Government, or Education?

Adobe XD relies upon access to Creative Cloud services for the sharing of prototypes and requires that ongoing product updates are installed to continue using the product.

Adobe XD beta releases are available to Creative Cloud for enterprise customers. The customers must be using named licensing deployment."
