In used to disable Adobe update notification by following this adobe method:

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/disable-auto-updates-application-manager.html

(lower part of the guide: User account disablement)

It seems like it doesnt work anymore since the CC2015 release, can you guys confim this?

Maybe someone has found a workaround to disable the update notifiactions? please help.

Thanks

Hi,

This can be done with the Creative Cloud Packager, in the Advanced Configurations section.

I already knew you're able to disable updates the way as described above, I build my package with the "Admin users update via Adobe Update Manager" option checked. This way admins are capable of using the updates. Dont want my standard users to (are not allowed to) run updates so also would like to stop update notifications. If you choose to disable update manager, also admin users cant use updates(greyed-out)

So i only would like to stop adobe update manager to notify for updates just like the method described (and worked before cc2015)

Disable auto-updates | Application Manager | IT administrators

Thanks for the clarification. I am not aware that this should be any different for 2015. Which method are you using; user or machine disabling? Also there is an option for post-deployment. Are you rolling out new files or testing with the ones already there?

Okay i tried both pre and post methods, i created a package containing the prefs which will post install the AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat to the /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/ folder.

In previous versions the AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat is used and update notifications where turned off. now it seems the update service re-creates the file overwriting the present file.

I have discussed this with the deployment engineering manager and they are investigating this currently.

Unfortunately I have not had a response yet, our US office is on shutdown this week so that is probably slowing things down.
