Question

How do I disable the "Account Confirmation" dialog box?

When I'm working in any Adobe CC 2019 app I am frequently interrupted by an "Account Confirmation" dialog box asking whether I am still the user. This doesn't appear to be based on any action on my part, but I cannot continue working in my project or document until I click in the affirmative. It's frankly infuriating. Can this be disabled? I'm not seeing any relevant options in the security settings.

Adobe has moved from serial-based licensing to subscription-only, even with licenses on shared devices. This dialog is their solution to the problem "what if a user leaves without logging out this machine from CC?" Unfortunately, as others have mentioned, this dialog is more an annoyance and a security flaw @Highway Zero than help, particularly from an IT management standpoint.

The CC desktop application isn't scriptable and it's UI is intentionally not labeled, so even generic AppleScript methods for logging out of the interface are impossible. Adobe needs to make some sort of automation available for shared devices, or at least have CC log off when the user logs off of the computer. A lot of schools still use a single, standard account in their labs.

Ideally, Adobe would just re-instate serial numbers for shared devices. I don't care if the serials only last a year, but don't force us to rely on the network or their authentication mechanisms to use their software. Certainly, don't encourage users to poke around in each others' accounts when they are accidentally left logged in.

We are actively looking to replace Adobe after this school year. Their software, licensing, & nag screens have become unusable. Twice this week the nag screen has popped up in the middle of very important, high-level presentations.

The bottom line is probably that some C-level bean counter at Adobe committed to go 100% to the named-user license model before conducting real world analysis in the very market (education) that is their long-term bread & butter. It looks like they're actually trying to put themselves out of business.

They better get their licensing fixed before the end of this school year or I know of tons of schools who are going to drop them.

First they force every education institution off of EEA, increase the cost many times over, require all new deployment of devices licenses, then not long after that force us on to shared devices licenses instead.  Now we have to confirm every 90 minutes that we are actually that person.  I just hope if they "fix" this, its not by moving to yet another license model again in 6 months that is even more restrictive.  At this rate, I expect nothing less than that.

Same here, no way to disable this terribly annoying feature.

Please Adobe, stop that.

I'm still not sure why they do it? What is the benefit to them

They pretend to protect user accounts, in the case you forgot to logout on a shared machine....

So what your saying is for staff we need different licensing then students? We need to buy two separate licensing structures at a school? Why wouldn't you give an option in our admin panel to decide this? I think adobe's using its monopoly to make people do things the way they want. When a good company listens to it's customers and makes adjustments to give options to fit in each institutions needs.

I have a NON-SHARED license, and I still get the pop-ups. All.day.long. It's so annoying. Crazy.

The biggest problem I have come across with this is that many users have a need to Print to PDF from various applications.  For a long time they have simply used the "Adobe PDF" printer.  This function will not work however unless you have already opened acrobat (or another CC application) and verified yourself.  It's just an unnecessary interruption to the workflow.  Luckily as a "solution"  Microsoft Print to PDF obviously works fine, it's just a matter of re-directing users to stop using a tool they were already used to.

While these changes are really only annoyances, the inability to disable this "feature" shows a greater shift toward the idea that Adobe as a whole is not valuing client needs.  I'm growing more and more open to suggestions if another provider has a more/equally efficient enterprise product that doesn't have these problems with their licensing structure.

Edit:

This is their current explanation:

Account confirmation dialog

Often, users forget to sign out after the class or lab session is complete. To protect users and their assets, periodically, users are prompted with an account confirmation dialog box. This ensures that a subsequent user to the lab computer does not access have to assets that the previous user was working on.

This however does not apply in an environment where each user has their own Windows login.

Hi All,

This is expected behavior for Shared Device Licensing since it is intended for a classroom environment, the confirmation is needed every 90 minutes.

For more information please read the 'End User Experience' section here: Shared Device Licensing | Deployment guide.

If this type of licensing is not working for you, I would request you to contact your account managers or sales contact at Adobe to see what other options would be better for you.

Feel free to write us back, if you have any more queries.

and how exactly do this work in a classroom environment interrupting everything every 90 mins.

My query is when will adobe treat it's paying customers like such and let them work and present without being interrupted?

Samething is happening. Is there any way to fix this?

Adobe has not responded as far as I can tell. I understand the intent, absolutely. But the pop-ups are too frequent.

Unfortunately, this "feature" is completely useless to us. Their stated intent may make sense for some organizations, but we have no such concerns in our environment based on our workflows. They really need to allow organizations to set a policy to disable this nonsense.

This is ridiculously frustrating.

I run multiple Adobe CC apps on multiple screens, as well as email applications, browsers, etc. Whenever one of the account confirmation pop-ups comes up (yes each application produces it's own pop-up) I can't click on anything in the application. I have to go searching for the window which can be buried under multiple other applications I may be running on a completely separate monitor.

Adobe needs to come up with a different solution to this.

This is a huge annoyance and is driving me nuts. It interrupts workflow and is completely unnecessary.

Adobe, get rid of this nonsense!
