I recently went through an onboarding call with Adobe and I am in the process of getting my organization set up so that it can use named licensing instead of serial licensing. I have my organization federation all set up and that is working and I am in the process of setting up the tool that will sync user accounts from my Active Directory to Adobe Creative Cloud Admin console.
I have asked this question of Adobe during my phone calls and no one can seem to help me. We are an environment where we supply a device to our teachers and students for their individual use but we also have a few computer labs with more powerful desktops for things like Graphic Design, Video Editing, and AutoCAD. These are multi-user computers where a different student will sign in every class period so I am curious how that would work with the named licensing limitations. I know that a user can sign into up to 2 devices at one time and if they exceed that they will get prompted to sign out of other devices but it seems if a student signs into a multi-user computer and then signs out of that computer (but leaves themselves signed into the Adobe apps) the next user that signs in is still using the license of the previous user and does not get prompted to sign in. I was hoping that once I had the federation and SSO set up and working that it would automatically sign users out of their Adobe ID when they signed out of the computer but I do not think that is the case.
I think this whole named licensing model with user accounts is going to cause a whole new level of support headaches for organizations such as schools where they have teachers and students that move around a lot and potentially can use many different computers
Hi,
I have started that request so hopefully you should hear further in the next few weeks.

Thanks for sharing that.

My instructors are recommending alternate/free versions of software to my boss to replace Adobe products. Having a complete solution ready before making any sort of change would probably be the way to go in the future.

This is a temporary issue related to CC2018 release and earlier. It is resolved in CC2019
CC2018 or earlier:
CC 2018 or earlier applications are based on AMT(Application Management technology) licensing. This is a machine based licensing and users would need to sign out of Adobe applications before logging out of user account. If they don’t log out of Adobe apps and other users logs back in (different OS user account), they will be able to use the applications without having to go through the sign in process.
CC2019 or later:
CC2019 or later applications are based on NGL(Next generation Licensing) and licensing data is stored at a OS user specific location. OS User A won’t be able to use the apps licensed by OS User B. If User A logs in with their user account, they need to license the applications by signing with their Adobe Id (Federated/Enterprise/Adobe Id). Hence, different OS users need to have their own sign-ins before using the apps.

greatly encourage you and your other adobe admins to watch your emails for announcements, while most will be new versions that are others that are important like covering the very question you have here, based on my conversations with adobe you should not be expecting students or instructor to use their own named account on a shared device, and that will likely not change.. more likely is a named account specific for labs that according to adobe will not count against your named account licenses.
heres hoping they realize that by default this "shared" account should not have any syncing.. I can only imagine the night mare of all the students constantly changing preferences, and it syncing across an entire school

If you are in an Edu enviroment, and still have a need for generic accounts on shared devices; or maybe you are looking to log people our of Adobe after someone leaves a lab. You could try deleting the Adobe credentials from 'Windows Credential Manager' on logout. On the Mac side you could try deleting the Keychains on logout. This will sign them out of Adobe CC. It works for me.
