Parallel use of Acrobat Standard and Reader in Server 2019 RDS Environment.

We bought 6 Standard licenses and I was under the false impression, that it's possible to first install Standard and then Reader on our RDS servers. Standard works fine for our six named users but installing Reader was not possible and now the majority of our users are unhappy with opening PDFs in Edge or Firefox.

Is there a way around this? Apparantely the unified installer is only available to enterprises, which is the only "solution" I have found thus far.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Found the solution over on Adobes feature request site:

There is an installation called "Adobe Acrobat 64-bit Windows Enterprise - Multilingual Unified Installer (Reader + Acrobat)" that I have been using. Along with a Registry Merge file :

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown]
"bIsSCReducedModeEnforcedEx"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MA

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

What this does is allows Acrobat to function like Reader if the user is not signed in, or doesn't have a license applied to their account.

If the user is signed in with an account that has a Pro or Standard license assigned, it will function as the appropriate version.

This has solved my issues with Acrobat closing immediately if the user doesn't have a license.

I've tested it with a licensed and non-licensed user and it works. For now at least.
