Please add increased storage plans to Adobe Teams

New Here ,
Mar 23, 2025 Mar 23, 2025

As an individual, I can add up to 10TB of storage to my ACC plan.  But Teams has a hard-limit for 1TB of shared storage (+ 1TB of private storage).  Please add the ability to buy more shared storage space in Teams.

Hi @LKN Images LLC,

Thank you for reaching out.

At this time, Creative Cloud for Enterprise and Teams customers cannot purchase additional storage beyond what is included with their subscription. However, both Adobe Teams and Enterprise plans now offer improved storage flexibility through a pooled storage model, where all user quotas are combined and shared across the organization.

This updated model allows users to exceed their individual storage limits as long as the organization’s total storage allocation is not surpassed. Previously, storage was allocated per license, which limited flexibility. With pooled storage, those who require more space can utilize unused storage from others within the team.

Additionally, I will forward your request to the relevant team for review. Thank you for your valuable feedback and for helping enhance the Adobe product experience.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for the reply and link.  Unfiortunately, the write-up in that link is as clear as mud to me.  🙂

Let me ask the question straight.  Let's say I purchase 5 "all apps" Teams licenses.  In the past, that would give me a total of 1 TB shared storage and then each user would have 1TB of private storage.  Under this new update, how much shared storage would I have?  Frankly, I don't care about private storage.

Hi @hi @LKN Images LLC,,

Thanks for your thoughtful question — I completely understand the confusion around storage allocation with Adobe Teams.

Here’s how it currently works under the new pooled storage model:

If you purchase 5 "All Apps" Teams licenses, you’ll receive a total of 5 TB of pooled storage for your organization. Each license contributes 1 TB to the shared pool. That means:

  • No separation between "private" and "shared" storage anymore.

  • All users draw from the same 5 TB pool, and any individual can use more than 1 TB as long as the total usage across the team doesn’t exceed 5 TB.

So, if one user needs 2 TB and others only need 0.5 TB, that’s totally fine — as long as your team collectively stays under the 5 TB limit.

Let us know if you have more queries.

Regards,
^AN

Ok.  Thanks.  This is encouraging!

Your answer was pretty clear but I just want to ask one more time.  I tried Teams in the past (prior to this new model) having been told by your online chat sales that I would have combined Lightroom shared storage.  What I was told was not true.  And it was a painful experience because I had to manually convert back to an individual plan with several TB of files in my LR cloud library.  I don't want to make a mistake again.  I just want to clarify your term "pooled storage"...

Right now, I am on an individual plan with 10TB of Adobe Cloud Storage.  Obviosuly, on an individual plan, there is no such thing as per-user storage amounts; it's just all one.  Adobe licensing allows me to log in using the same Adobe ID on 2 computers at the same time.  So, when I launch Lightroom (not LR Classic) on my Mac and my lead photogrpaher launches Lightroom on her Mac, we see and work with a single shared LR libary.  Given my current plan, that LR library could be as large as 10TB.

Just to clarify... What you are saying is that Teams is effectively the same now?  In my scenario, if I buy 5 Teams licenses, I'll have 5TB of "pooled storage" and every one of my 5 users will be able to see and work with the entire cloud library... just like I am able to do today on my individual plan when 2 users log into the same Adobe ID and share the LR library on Adobe Cloud?

While you can have Adobe apps activated on two computers, they can only be used by one person. LR should not be shared with your lead photographer.

Hi @LKN Images LLC,

Thank you for following up — this is a really important distinction, and you're absolutely right to seek clarity before making another switch. I'm also sorry to hear about your past experience.

As mentioned earlier, the new pooled storage model allows users to exceed their individual storage limits as long as the organization’s total storage allocation is not surpassed. Previously, storage was allocated per license, which limited flexibility. With pooled storage, users who need more space can now utilize unused storage from others within the same team.

Regarding your current workflow:

As Jane also mentioned,

On an individual plan, as you pointed out, you and your lead photographer are sharing access by logging into the same Adobe ID. While this may provide a unified experience, it's important to note that individual plans are licensed for use by one person only. Sharing your Adobe ID is not permitted under Adobe’s licensing terms. You can read more about this policy here:
:link: Adobe Account Sharing Policy

With an Adobe Teams plan, each user has their own Adobe ID, even though the storage is pooled. This means:

  • Each user’s Lightroom (cloud) library is tied to their individual Adobe ID.

  • While storage is shared across the organization, Lightroom libraries are not automatically shared across users.

  • To collaborate, you would need to manually share albums or use shared workflows within Lightroom.

For more information about collaboration and library access with Teams storage, you can refer to this guide:
:link: Libraries in Business Storage

I hope this helps clarify things. If you have further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Regards,
^AN

Very glad that I asked the follow-up because what you are describing is not at all useful to my company.

So back to my original feature request: Please come up with a way to purchase additional shared storage under Adobe Teams.  Having to manually share is not a good solution for many organizations like ours where we want all users to have full access to the entire library.
