I have adobe programs installed on my laptop, paid for by the university where I work. I have separately bought a subscription for light room. Now Adobe keeps prompting me for log in to use Illustrator, which I do not have. Now the use of Illustrator is blocked and I cant do my work.

Ibenl58069816, the license from your University is being replaced by the one for your private e-mail address.  Please inquire with your Creative Cloud admin if you can have a named license assigned to the e-mail address you use for Lightroom CC.  Alternately, if they can give you a named user license, then you can sign in when you wish to use the applications included with the Creative Cloud membership offered by your University.

I do not have a log in for my institutional access, it used to work like that, and is supposed to work like that. I have a log in for my private use of lightroom, which does not have purchsed access to Illustrator. So now I am locked out of Illustrator.

You don't have a login or you don't have Illustrator?
