Programs installed before and whose trial period is over are not licensed with the Adobe Serialization script.

My admin at my university (we have an ETLA contract) ran the Adobe Serialization script in Terminal to license my installed Adobe CC software on my computer (with my Adobe ID). It works for most programs. However, those programs that I installed before and whose trial period is over are not licensed (in my case: Muse, Animate).

  1. I did a complete reinstall after running the Adobe CC Cleaner tool. No solution.
  2. I followed the advice at Resolve connection errors with Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite applications . No solution.
  3. I contacted Adobe via chat. They recommended to use my university Adobe ID. But we don't have one (we have this ETLA contract) ...

Somehow, the old installation information persists. Any help?

what I do is :


– Install Adobe CC applications with the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App with my own (private) Adobe ID,


– then I run the AdobeSerialization Script.


Result is that those applications I never used before are licensed, those that I installed and used before are keeping their "trial" status.

Thanks, I am not sure why you are using two steps and two methods of entitlement rather than one, which would be to build a serialised package and install that. I would avoid mixing them. However you may want to try signing out from all of your applications before running the serialization file.

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Thank you, but this didn't work.

1. After trying this I deleted my HD and reinstalled my MacOs (now 10.12.4.).

2. With a new Adobe ID I reinstalled everything (Photoshop, Indesign, ... Muse, After Effects, Animate) from the Adobe CC App.

3. Then I ran "AdobeSerialization" in Terminal.

4. Again, all previously installed test versions that ran out are again test versions (namely Muse, After Effects, Animate).

So, I guess it has to do with my MAC address or IP adress.

Any help?

I actually having the same issue.

Re-imaged device.

Created Adobe Package using Adobe Creative Cloud Packager tool.

Upon runing Adobe Illustrator the trial pop-up came up, but I can see that the device is licensed on the web portal.

This is a recurring issue that I have reported with Adobe several times but with no resolution.

You may have re-imaged the device without removing the device license from your portal.

Please try removing from the portal, then roll out the device license.
