We are using Adobe 9 and the Redaction Tool for selection text is to tall. The height needs to be reduced...
When the redaction marks are applied the text above the redacted line is whited out... The program doesn't black out the line above but the text is "gone" for lack of a better word.
I attempted to contact support via Chat and did not receive any assistance.
The tool is also to large/tall in Adobe 10 Pro. In Adobe 10 Pro the redaction mark actually extends to the text below slightly but this is black like the "normal" redaction result.
I tried to explain to the support chat person this was a crital issue but they basically didn't care.
Any help to resolve the "whited out" text above the redacted line in Adobe 9 Pro is greatly appreciated.
and
Any help to adjust the height of the redaction tool would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vanessa
I do not know what community should assist with this issue as there is not a Redaction community... Why is it so difficult to get assistance/help from Adobe?

Why not try the current version? Acrobat 9 is past end of life.

Thank you for your suggestion...
I work for a government agency and funding is not always available to upgrade software.

Ok, but you should understand the consequences of not upgrading. Acrobat 9 is indeed past end of life, and fixes are only made to the current version. It is no use trying to explain to Adobe that this is a critical issue, because they cannot and will not support it; this is their official position: End of support | Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 (and earlier)

I do agree... I have requested our Agency upgrade those affected computers which require the ability.
Thanks for posting... I figured it was something that would be corrected by an upgrade, but I had a responsibility to attempt to "find" an alternative solution.
Appreciate it.

I do recommend you conduct tests to see if the problem really is fixed. You can use the 30 day free trial of Acrobat Pro XI, but I recommend using a different computer, as if Acrobat 9 is installed it will be removed and may be hard to get back. It is worth noting that Adobe do now offer Acrobat on a subscription basis including all upgrades (as I understand it).
