Remote Update Manager and SCCM

I am hoping someone could point me in the right direction.  I have deployed an AdobeCC package to a few test clients using SCCM.  I am new to SCCM and I have been searching for how to invoke the remote update manager for all of my clients using SCCM.  I am not using AUSST, I will be going directly to Adobe.  I have found examples for Linux and Mac but nothing for SCCM.

This guide says it is possible but I just can seem to find a good example.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James,

I have not figured this out yet, but with the new release of CC 2015 it would be handy to have this working.

Basically just create a script that executes the remote update manager on the client machines.

Deploy the script as a package and set it to re-run per your update schedule.

The script could look something like..

If defined PROGRAMFILES(X86) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE_Enterprise\RemoteUpdateManager.exe"

if not defined PROGRAMFILES(X86) "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE_Enterprise\RemoteUpdateManager.exe"

For googlers in 2025, the path to RUM is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE_Enterprise\RemoteUpdateManager\RemoteUpdateManager.exe"

Hi

Sorry to kind of hi-jack this thread. I am just trying to learn how RUM works and doing some testing

So far I am a little confused

I purposely created a packaged with an outdated bunch of adobe apps so I can see what happens when it updates

For example I have packaged

Photoshop 2015 ( not 2015.5)

The result I am after is seeing RUM update Photoshop from 2015.0 to 2015.5

I ran the RUM tool it found the following updates for Photoshop:

AdobePhotoshopCC2015-16.0/16.1.2

it updated succesfully

But the Photoshop.app still says Photoshop 2015 ( not 2015.5)  and going to About > Info it still says 2015.0.0 Release

Is this not meant to update the applications to 2015.XX ?

Felipe, please check: Creative Cloud Help | Deploying Adobe packages with SCCM

Kindly let us know if this helps or if you need any further assistance.

Hi Atul, thank you for the quick reply. As far as deploying the package, that part worked fine.

My question is for invoking the command line Remote Update Manager (RUM) on SCCM to apply updates to CC products.  Is it a matter of setting up an automatic deployment of a batch file or script?  Any way to monitor besides checking the logs in the local machines?

Thank you!
