Serial Number in System Info is Not Long Enough

I have deactivated CS5 from Computer A, noting the System Info before deactivating, which included a Serial Number.

When trying to re-install CS5 on Computer B, the Serial Number is not long enough.

This CS5 is a student edition.

I have the same problem and require some help

If you have a student edition that was previously installed on a computer and you still have the Product Code, go to this page:  https://www.studentteacherlicensing.com/lost.cfm

You can put in the product code and it will give you the serial number.

I eventually got this link from Adobe, but only after asking 5 times in 10 different ways, waiting on hold for 3 hours (live people were of no assistance and did not know enough to provide this link).  Exasperating and it definitely gives you the idea that Adobe would prefer that you not figure it out.

    Good luck!

I am experiencing the same problem with my student edition of Lightroom. The link provided no longer seems to work. Is there an updated solution to retrieving the full serial number?

You need to look in your own records if you did not register it on Adobe's site.

I have Lightroom 3 software with a Product Code, Not serial number... Previously downloaded on my old computer. Nowadays it's not a long enough activation code to get the software registered. I have no clue what to do about this issue, but as for me, I am completely over Adobe and their products. Will definitely never recommend to clients, friends, family in the future.

Can anyone at Adobe help me locate my CS5 serial number?  It does not show in my account and when I look at Help - System Info I only see 20 out of 24 numbers.  I have been At this for 6 hours and getting very frustrated as NO ONE has been able to help me after spending $1,000+ on Adobe products.

Right there with you, I am giving up on this Dead-End company. It's crooked.

    Lori,

Sarika can probably confirm this, but if memory serves me well, the System Info would drop the last group of characters from the license key to prevent it from being easily copied. I believe this was true in all versions of the suite, not just education. If it was part of a large/district purchase, somebody there may be able to look it up on licensing.adobe.com (or Sarika may be able to help).

    Hi ljtravers7,

I would like to gather some information regarding your issue, so, please answer the questions below:

    1. Do you get any error while entering serial number?
    2. What is the Operating System that you are using?
    3. What all steps did you try from your end

    Will wait for your reply.

I did not get an error. The serial number that I took from the Help>System Info screen on Computer A was 16 digitals, not long enough to fill in the serial number boxes on Computer B. The "next" button remained greyed out because the serial number boxes were not filled in.

Computer A was a Windows XP machine while Computer B is Windows 7.

The CS5 software is a student edition and I have the original Product Code if that would help.

I have a serial number for a previous version I bought for school but I

don't know if it is a student edition , I think it may just be the standard

CS 5 illustrator at least that's what I'm looking for. Ultimately I have

two thirds of the serial number and need to find a way to get the rest.
