Using multiple AdobeID's simultaneously

Community Beginner ,
May 17, 2023 May 17, 2023

I own a Creative Cloud for Teams subscription that I use regularly between a desktop and a notebook. Rarely I need to use the software on a third machine. However, I need to use Adobe Acrobat daily on that third computer. What is happening now is that I need to constantly logoff/logon and deactivate one of the licenses, just because of my need to use Acrobat on one of the machines. I'm thinking about getting an Adobe Acrobat license for the third machine.

My question is this: when I will login on the third machine with the intent of using just Acrobat, if I assign an Acrobat license to my AdobeID, will "Adobe license server" apply my Acrobat license? Or my Creative Cloud license?

I'm thinking I can create a different AdobeID just for Acrobat. However, on my phone I use Adobe Account Access app and also Adobe Scan. I'm worried that this will all become a mess even worse that just having to logon/logoff from one of the3 computers as I have now.

Can anyone provide me any feedback in case you have more information or a possible solution for my situation? Thank you so much!

This is not especially tidy.

1.There is only a CC license: Acrobat uses the CC license.

2.A given Adobe ID will add together all the plans to get the eligible apps (for example, Photography Plan+Acrobat will leave you with Photoshop+Lightroom+Acrobat eligible)

3. You can sign on with a given Adobe ID on at most two systems.

4. Overlapping subscriptions (such as Acrobat + Creative Cloud All Apps) do not increase the two system limit.

5. You can have multiple Adobe IDs, each with their own eligible ap

it's not clear why you have a teams subscription and why you have multiple adobe id's, but given that you do, you can expect that each adobe id can have its own product licenses applied to it.  you can sign into one or two computers with each adobe id without signing out.  each id can be assigned whatever subscription(s) you hold for your team.

6. You cannot be signed in with multiple different Adobe IDs at the same time on the same system. So, for example, if you have the Photography Plan and the Acrobat plan on different Adobe IDs, you can sign in and use Photoshop+Lightroom, OR you can sign in and use Acrobat. You cannot use both at the same time on the same system.

Thank you so much for your detailed answer. You did provide some light.

Unfortunately it seems that even if I would buy an additional Acrobat license, I will not be able to solve my needs. I will have to continually log off/on and activate/deactivate the existing Creative Cloud for Teams license.

Thank you once again!

@ChickyNando

correct.  ie, again it's not clear why you have a teams subscription.

I have a Teams subscription because I use many of the included Adobe products : Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and more rarely, Premiere and Audition (plus some of the online apps). The 2-machines limit are mostly ok for those apps, but for Acrobat, I need it on 3 machines, and that's why I was trying to find a way to have it working without having to continuously logoff/on activate/deactivate.

i don't see any benefit (for you to have) a teams subscription vs having two individual subscriptions.

is there a benefit?

Maybe I'm not being clear... I need 1 Teams subscription because of all the tools I need to use. Usually I use no more than 2  machines, so I'm usually ok. However, now I have the need to use Adobe Acrobat on 3 machines - just Acrobat, not all the tools. Two of those 3 machines are the same I use my Teams subscription. Because I can only hace the Teams subscription active on 2 machines at a time, I need to activate/deactivate a machine frequently. Because on the 3rd machine I usually just need Acrobat, I was trying to make sure I would be able to use it, eventually with a different AdobeID because it would be a different subscription just for Acrobat. I would have two different AdobeID's; one for the desktop+laptop I use Teams, and the other AdobeID for a  2nd desktop where I need to use Acrobat.

i still don't understand.

you have 1 teams subscription with 2 licenses, correct?

one license (adobe id) is for two of your computers and a second license (acrobat only and a different adobe id) is used for your third computer.

is that correct?

Yes, that is correct. I just do not have a single Acrobat license. That is what I was trying to understand if I should get or not. Assuming I can have a 2nd AdobeID (I guess I will need to use a different email, but that should not be a problem). The main issue will be on my phone where I have Adobe apps that are linked to one AdobeID, particularly Adobe Scan that will not be able to share my phone scans with the single AdobeID/Acrobat license that I would use on the third computer.

ok, so you have no benefit using a teams subscription (with two different adobe id's) vs using two individual subscriptions (with two different adobe id's), but you are paying a lot more for that teams subscription.

as for your mobile and all your documents/synced files/libraries, you'll need to share files across the two adobe id's.  adobe cc files are designed for sharing/collaborating so that shouldn't be a big issue with either teams or individual subscriptions.
