Thanks again but I'd have to respectfully disagree about the "completeness" of this (or most) Admin guides. All too often, they seem to be written for IT people who:
a) have LOTS of time on their hands to interpret, test and execute generalized guidance.
b) have adequate test environments
c) enjoy the thrill of the hunt.
Your more succinct reference this time to paragraph 15.4.2, and 15.4.3 were helpful in that they give me a specifc area to focus (again, much appreciated). However, none of the wording in either of those paragraphs suggests (to me anyway) that they might be applicable to Acrobat X updates. While the word "deployments" is used liberally, I hadn't really associated it in my mind with the concept of running updates although I'm sure many might use the term synonomously. Chapter 15.4.4, in case that too is applicable, also uses the term "deployments" in it's paragraph title. I might suggest a sentence or two suggestive of the fact that, as you're saying, the APT can also be used to "update Acrobat X" for the benefit of those who aren't in a position to spend a lot of time tyring to test or interpret how this can be done - precicely.
Even better - give an example. Write out the exact steps for running an Acrobat X Update (and other product updates) via APT/ARD Mac/Windows in the Admin guide for search engines. i.e. do IT people spend more time spent doing deployments or updates? In my case, it would be updates.
