Which account will the files be shared with?

Hi everyone,

my e-mail address currently has 2 Adobe-Accounts or rather versions of accounts that are active. One is a business-account which my university is the admin of, I think. The other one is a private one which I just now created and booked the student-plan for, because the business-account will be deactivated several days ahead from now.

When people want to share files with my mail-address, which of these accounts will get access to them? Or can I choose with which I want to access the shared file?

Does anyone know? Thanks for your support!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi @Nina-Rimy,

Thank you for reaching out, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

To assist you better, could you please clarify the specific issue you're encountering?

If you're looking to update your payment method, you can follow the steps outlined in this official guide: https://adobe.ly/4mnHRuo

Regarding your question — "If someone outside my university shares files with my email address, can I choose which account (Business or Personal) will receive them?" — here's how it works:

When your Adobe ID is associated with both a Business and a Personal profile (under the same email address), Adobe will prompt you to choose a profile each time you sign in. If someone shares files from outside with your email address, the shared content will be delivered to whichever profile you choose when accessing the link or logging in to Creative Cloud.

So yes, you can choose which profile to access the shared files with, as long as the selected profile has the necessary permissions or licenses to open the content.

Since your Business Profile will soon be deactivated, we recommend:

Logging into your Personal Profile when opening shared links.

Informing collaborators to resend shared files if needed after you've switched to your Personal Profile.

For clarity on switching profiles and managing assets, you can refer to this guide:https://adobe.ly/4k11jLR

Hi Kanikas,

no sorry this is not helpful at all. I already searched a long while in Adobe's FAQs and every support page I could find.
I need answers from people that might have encountered that problem before or know how it works.
