Activation of Acrobat XI after trial version deployment

New Here ,
Dec 16, 2012 Dec 16, 2012

Hello,

now we received our first Acrobat XI License (we don´t have volume licenses).

I built a software package and did some changes to the settings with the customization wizard (without license key).

(Package was built with Empirum Workplace Automation)

After my first test runs I encounterd a little problem.

Before Acrobat opens in trial mode, you have to login with an Adobe ID and I´m not able to enter a license key.

Is it possible to bypass the ID login so I can enter a license key after the installation?

Thank you,

Christopher

Yes,  it's possible with APTEE

http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/licensing.html#aptee-usage

  4.6   APTEE usagehttp://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/licensing.html?highlight=provisioning#a...

Acrobat 11.0 supports the use the Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition (APTEE) command line tool for both Windows and Macintosh. You can use it with both the standalone product and that bundled with the Creative Suite. However, you can use the Wizard to do most of the things the APTEE tool does, and the Wizard is the preferred method for setting such features.

Note

The APTEE is also available as part of the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition 3.1 (AAMEE). AAMEE allows for the customization and packaging of the CS6 applications (including Acrobat) with their updates as MSI or PKG installers for enterprise deployment and imaging.

To get started:

  1. Get the tools and documentation from http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html.
  2. Install APTEE CS5.5 for 10.0 and APTEE CS6 for 11.0.
  3. Navigate to the APTEE folder.
  4. Open a command prompt and run the commands below with administrator privileges.

Start with the table here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/licensing.html?highlight=provisioning#c....

The aptee is useful, but it's easy to get sidetracked in CS doc and options pertaining to non-Acrobat installation workflows . . . better to use the cmd line or the Wizard.
