Hi all,

We're looking to migrate from Serial Licenses to Named User Licensing but I have found that when I install applications through Adobe CC it does not remove the old Adobe applications that were previously installed.

How could I remove ALL old adobe products prior to installing new applications through Adobe CC desktop app.

Hi there,

The following applications cannot be added to the uninstall package:

  • Creative Suite 6 and prior versions
  • Acrobat
  • Scout
  • Edge Code
  • Gaming SDK
  • Lightroom –all versions prior to 5.7.1
  • Muse – all versions prior to 2014.2.1
  • Reflow
  • Edge Inspect

For more details on this please read this: https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/enterprise/package/help/create-uninstall-package.html.

Hi there,

Please use the Creative Cloud Packager to build an uninstall package to uninstall the older versions of apps, to know more see: Uninstall Creative Cloud products.

After this, you can refer to the Packaging User Guide to package and deploy your new apps.

It would be nice if the uninstall package actually uninstalled everything. It doesn't remove Flash Builder and a number of other apps including Acrobat are left behind even when "selecting all" in the uninstaller package.

It's bad enough you force named licensing on eveyone. At the very least you company could provide an effective way to smoothly upgrade without having to jump through hoops to do so. I have to run a task sequence that runs 12 distinct steps just to clear the old programs. Totally ridiculous. On top of that half the time even with the new deployment set to allow users to control their own apps, it still asks for Administrative rights so you have to uninstall everything and reinstall it again to get it to work.

Will this remove older versions of apps installed under serial licenses?

It looks like it only uninstalls Creative Cloud apps?

Why isn't there documentation on removing the other products via automation that aren't supported by the uninstaller.

If the uninstal package method doesn't work, you could use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool. See https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html#Removeallorsele...
