Personal Account and School Creative Cloud Account Compatibility and Synchronizing

Hi there,

For the past year, I have been paying for my own personal Adobe Photography Plan. Very recently, however, my school has begun to offer a free Adobe Creative Cloud subscription for the majority of students. I have a few questions in regards to this, so bear with me if you can:

  1. Is it possible for me to transfer/apply the school's subscpition to my own personal account?
  • I have already setup both accounts. I.E. I've had my personal account in use for a little over a year now and just today I have created my school account to gain access to other applications, such as Premier Pro and After Effects.
    • Is there anyway to use/transfer the school's Creative Cloud subscripton over to my personal account?

2. What would happen if I cancel my Personal Account's subscription?

  • I have already done some research in to this topic, in the event that I cannot transfer my school's CC license/subscription to my own personal account. However, I was unable to find the answers I needed for my own personal concerns.
    • For example, when I currently log in to either account (School Account w/ CC License & Personal Account w/ Photography License) my Lightroom Classic Catalog is exactly the same, thankfully. All my edits are there, all my collections, all my metadata, etc. I assume this is because I have my Lightroom Catalog saved to my internal SSD, is this correct? If so, am I safe to cancel my own Personal Photography Plan until my school account stops offering the CC Subscription?
    • Is it fine to continue to work on that same catalog, that I created with my Personal Account, with the School's Creative Cloud account?

3. Questions in regards to the future and returning to my Personal Photography Plan Account/Subscription - after school's Creative Cloud Account/Subscription is no longer active

  • (Will all of the work I create on the School's CC Account be accessible when I reactivte my Personal Account's subscription?)
    • I save all of my work locally through my internal drives, as well as through backup external drives. Is that enough to prevent any potential problems from happening in the future?
    • Will whatever new presets, collections, metadata, (etc.) that I add to my Lightroom Classic catalog on my School's Creative Cloud Account be syncronized and the same when I open up the catalog via my Personal Photography Account when I renew the subscription in the future?
    • Lastly, for other applications (After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, etc.) if I backup and save my work locally - if I decide to upgrade my Personal Photography Plan Account's subscription to a Creative Cloud subscription, in the future, will I have access to all of the work I have created and made?

Perhaps I'm overthinking things, but if you read through all of that and answered - thank you very much. I just want to ensure that I do not make any mistakes and potentially lose lots of hardwork for a very petty reason. In addition, I do know my school will be offering the free Creative Cloud subscription through our school emails till the summer of 2021, yet I don't know if it will continue past that.

As I am a student, I want to do what I can to save money (don't we all though?) which is why I've asked so many questions. Hopefully they aren't too confusing, but if there is any need for clarification I will resond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much, stay safe, and best wishes!

1 - No... As you have already discovered, each plan has a separate login

I don't have two accounts, so I can't answer the other questions
