Question

Fireworks 8 Serial Number

I downloaded a copy of Macromedia Fireworks 8.

It works just as I recall.

The trial now wants a serial number but Adobe support say they don't do that.

Does anyone know where I can get a serial number or how I can make it work.

Happy to pay but want this to work.

Thanks

I can't imagine where you got it. Fireworks is End of Life.  It hasn't been sold or supported since 2012.

Unless you purchased a copy 15 years ago, there is no way to get a valid serial number anymore.

Besides it's unfit for use on most modern computers.  It's too old.

Hi Thanks. I had an old copy of Fireworks MX but it wouldn't read anymore. So I looked online recently and found a copy of Fireworks8. I just like its simplicity and reducing filesize etc is SO easy. If I could find a license for it i would just keep using it. It runs without error on windows11

There are far better (and even simpler) tools available for free to optimize images for the web nowadays, resulting in smaller file sizes.

    For example Sqoosh:

    https://squoosh.app/

The web is moving on from Gif, JPG and even PNG. WebP and Avif are commonly used and Fireworks 8 or MX can't export either.

So feel free to be stuck in the past with Fireworks 8, but it isn't going to help you to reduce image file sizes compared to what is now possible.
