64-bit machine showing 32-bit flash in cp

Hi,

I have an HOP Pavillion laptop running Windows 8.1, fully patched/updated running as 64-bit on an intel i3 chip. It was running WIN8 when bought.

When I go into control panel is shows adobe flash player (32-bit).

I have been having some issues within IE (version 11.0.9600.18538; update version 11.0.38) where the PC is freezing on certain pages.

Is there a compatibility issue I should be concerned with? How do I get the 64-bit flash player installed? Thought this was part of the IE8 so can I un-install what I have and run a new install?

    Hi,

I assume you are referring to the Flash Player item in the Control Panel:

If so, this is the Flash Player Settings Manager, it is not the Flash Player ActiveX Control/Plugin itself.  Flash Player itself will appear in the list of installed programs.

    Thanks!

    Hello divya,

Yes, I am referring to the control panel settings manager.

So is that reading as 32-bit relevant or consequential or not? Does it need to be upgraded/replaced in some fashion?
