Question

Adobe Flash Player 11.5 not working with Firefox 18.0.1

I keep having to uninstall new versions of Adobe Flash Player and re-install the 10.3.183.43 version. The latest version, 11.5.502.146, will not let me play YouTube videos, for example. I am using Firefox 18.0.1. I have tried many 'suggestions' to fix the problem but nothing has worked.  What is the solution???

    Windows 7

    Firefox 18.0.1

    Adobe  11.5.502.146

Started experiencing problems after upgrading to  11.5.502.146

Embedded Youtube videos show are no longer showing on forums.  Basically just a blank box.

I tried uninstalling using the uninstaller utility and reinstalled 10.3.183.43 archived version.   Problem still persisting.

We have a new 11.6 beta available that you might want to try.  In addition, please see this FAQ for Firefox troubleshooting steps.

How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

I tried the new 11.6 but it did not work. I do not have Realplayer installed. I did a 'Reset' of my Firefox but it did not work. I restored my preferences to get it back to where it  orginally was. I uninstalled 11.6 and reinstalled 10.3 it let the YouTube videos play again. I tried just about everything that has been suggested but I can not get 11.6 to work.

No, I have not found a solution. I have uninstalled the latest version and went back to the 10.3 version. Get the Adobe uninstall program to be able to uninstall the current version.

I think I found the older version at this Adobe site:

I have just about given up.

What is your operating system & version?

What exactly means "not work" and "will not let me"?

My operating system is Windows7 Pro/32.

When I try to play a YouTube video, the video window stays black. The video will not start.

    Thanks... Gary
