Adobe Flash Player too slow to play games

I'm using iMac Sierra and have Flash player version 23.0.0.207 properly installed and use it on both Safari and Chrome. It's too slow to play games and on Chrome plugin very often crashes. Tried everything can think of - i.e enabling etc; both libraries; used to work fine most of time before Sierra version on iMac. Can't play Big Farm - Goodgames Studio. Only game I installed. Had Apple support check and all is ok with computer - so any ideas please.

Yeah, this is a totally decent machine.  It should work fine.

I know it sounds trite, but have you rebooted since you started having this problem?

What happens if you disable hardware acceleration?  It shouldn't be a problem, but it's worth ruling out.

You might also want to run disk first aid to see if maybe the filesystem is corrupted:

If it is, doing an uninstall/reinstall after you repair the problems might help.

    Uninstall Flash Player - Mac:

For Chrome, you'll just have to uninstall/reinstall Chrome.

Yep I've restarted; shut down then rebooted; disabled accelerator; enabled accelerator; uninstalled and re-installed both Safari and Chrome - so many times over past two weeks and only very occasionally (3 times out of 30 ish it worked for between 15 seconds and a minute). Going to try first aid. But Apple Support went through all this as well and they couldn't understand - thinking there was something up with this Game and they advised me to seek support from Adobe!

    Anyway will try First Aid.

It's quite possible that the problem is the game.  Flash Player is effectively a language runtime.  We process other people's code, and while we try to give people the tools to write efficient, high-quality code, it's definitely possible to write inefficient code.

In general, our recommendation would be to contact the developer, especially if it's just this specific game or a couple games.  We provide a performance profiling tool for Flash developers called Adobe Scout, which allows developers to identify the bottlenecks in their code.

In the event that the developer identifies a generic language-level problem, they're in a good position to relay that problem to us; however, it's more likely that there are opportunities for optimization that would allow the developer to improve performance.

What's the actual model of the machine?  You can get it from Apple > About This Mac > System Report > Hardware Overview
