Can't open a PDF file. Error says to install flash player, but i have adobe on my computer?

Can't open pdf files sent online to me for a class.  message says to install flash player, but I still can't get it to open.  I have windows 10.?

While Microsoft does embed Flash Player in IE/Edge on Windows 10, it's the ActiveX version of Flash Player and Acrobat Reader uses the NPAPI plugin version of Flash Player.  Please see Adobe Reader and Acrobat Flash Player Download for Windows to download and install the NPAPI plugin that Acrobat Reader uses.
