getPlus+(R): Error

So I'm trying to install Adobe Flash Player due to problems with any flash video I play or even flash music the sound would not play. So I was attempting to reinstall everything Adobe when I hit this:

Installation is Corrput! (16248.202.235 - 73272312.80040154.FFFFFFF.80040154)

I can't install Flash nor even the Adobe download manager thing. Help?

Not sure if you have fixed the issue, but i had the same issue...so for anyone who finds this page searching like me here's how to fix it....

Go to C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files

Delete the following files gp and gp.ocx

You should now be able to install the download manager and uninstall if required.

I had the same problem. After i updated Firefox to version 3.5.4, after the Firefox Updated page told me to update my Flash software. I tried several times, but it just wouldn't install. I gave up.

Just now, ik updated Firefox to version 3.5.5. Again i get the Firefox Update page, again telling me to update my Flash, now! So i try again. Fail.

It seems Adobe is of the opinion that installing a Firefox plugin, which itself updates the Flash software is better than releasing a standalone installer. But when the installer of the plugin is already failing, how do we get our up-to-date Flash versions? A standalone alternative is nowhere to be found.

This is my screenhot of the same installation error btw.

My solution was to start a simple browser, without the plugin/extension misery. I used Arora. Went to the get Flash page and instead of a crap download manager plugin, i get a normal download of a standalone installer.

Now for the €100.000* question, why is there no alternative (direct to a real installer) link on this get Flash page when i arrive there with my Firefox browser?

* i prefer Euros over Dollars

I had the exact same problem described above, but I was able to resolve it. In order to clear up some of the confusion, I'd like to review what I have and what I did.

First, I'm running Firefox on Windows XP. I tried to install Adobe Flash Player 10. The Flash installer window popped up, wasted a bunch of time trying to install itself, then popped up the GetPlus+(R) error described earlier in this thread. Rebooting the computer and re-opening Firefox only got me back into that same infinite loop. There was no way to interrupt the installer from getting itself into this loop.

In order to resolve it, I had to do *ALL* of the following:

1. Uninstall the Adobe Flash Installer

2. Uninstall the Adobe Flash Player

3. Uninstall Mozilla firefox (sorry, just #1 and #2 didn't do it).

4. Install Flash as follows (as described earlier in this thread):

Use Internet Explorer to download and re-install the Mozilla Firefox installer, and run the installer. If the installer says it had a problem reinstalling a previous tab or window (or something like), make sure you do not hit the <RESTORE> button!!!!. Instead, click the other option (I forgot what it said, but there's only two buttons, so just click the other one [it's on the right]).

Once you have Firefox running, then install the Flash Player using the fpdownload link described in Post #4 in this thread by the poster who writes his name backward. Make sure you use this flash_installer, and not the one from the "automatic" Adobe page.

Try to download this installer

for Internet Explorer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax .exe (save to disk);
for Firefox http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.ex e (save to disk);

After 1-1/2 hours of restarting and rebooting, and everything else, this sequence finally did the trick.

I have been trying to uninstall the download manager from the add/remove programs in windows to use this fix; but there is an error and it will not uninstall. Is there a utility I can download to uninstall it

I got exactly the same problem.

Getplus+(R) error and unable to update my flash player.

I went trought all the steps in this forum.

I end up not able to install flash.

Please provide us a fix.

sorry all these other people aren't me.

This originally was a getPlus help topic because I assumed that it was the error in getPlus that stopped me from installing the correct or "proper" Adobe Flash. To the person who's also asking question on this thread, please make your own, it would be focused on your own problem therefore would be more benefitial to you.

My problem is this:

1) I can't install getPlus because it has an error installing/reinstalling

2) The entire reason why I get this problem is because i'm trying to re-install Flash onto my computer in order to troubleshoot for my no flash sound problem.

Therefore, this problem has transformed to

3) No flash sound

We ARE having the same problem.

A getplus install error.

We are both trying to reinstall flash player because we are having problems with it and we get the "corrupt installation" error on reinstall.

Your problem with flash is that you have no sound, my problem with flash is that it doesn't work at all (no A/V). Thats the only difference. Otherwise it's the same problem being discussed in this thread, and it has been from the start. A getplus install error.

That being said, I will start my own thread.

NOTE: (this is primarily for Pat Willener, but anybody who has trouble with the Adobe Download Manager (which you all call 'GetPlus') should follow this advise)

if you get an error with the ADM/GetPlus installer, don't bother trying to figure it out.

Instead, just go to:

and download the alternate installer from that technote.

Our web team is working on figuring out why some people get there errors in the ADM, but we don't know yet. When we figure it out we'll fix it.

Now I am confused - you earlier wrote that you downloaded and installed the Firefox add-on. At what stage then do you get the GetPlus+ error?

this is what happened.

one day I logged on I found that sound doesn't work in flash. I follow general troubleshoot procedures and I uninstall all flash-related including the Adobe Install manager or whichever one has getPlus+ on it and then tried to re-install them. While installing the install manager, the error comes up. I click on "click here if download doesn't start" and obtain the isntall file itself. Even after re-installing flash through that method, the sound doesn't work (tested both in Firefox and Internet Explorer, both of the flash does not work).

So pretty much I did download and install the firefox addon. It still did not fix the problem

my operating system is Windows vista Home Premium 64-bit

my browser is firefox

I also know that the getPlus is corrupt, so if someone could help me fix that, that would be thankful too

Uninstall the Download Manager from Add/Remove Programs, and all should be well.

the problem is it wont let me uninstall it from download manager. and it gives some foriegn strange code as the reason i cant even find teh symbols on ascii.

this is crazy i broacast at ustream and the alternative flash is terrible i cant install it either and adobe dont handle this thats wrong if you get a solution on how to get rid of this post thank you GETPLUS+R ERROR

I am having the same issues. None of my videos would play audio or video just out of the blue?! I tried to download Flash player ver10 and get the same error. I uninstalled the flash player on my computer, and tried to re-install from the Adobe site and still get the same error....Help!

I am on Vista, using IE.

I switched to Firefox, same problems....

Try to download this installer

for Internet Explorer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
for Firefox http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe (save to disk);

Close all browser windows, then run the downloaded installer(s).

P.S. do not download from the links on the email notification you received; I have made corrections on the links here in the forum post.
