I keep getting an Installation error, What does launchfail mean?

I keep trying to install the new verison of flash and at the end of the download, it says flash player not installed, and when I ask for details, it just says "launchfail."

I have no other verisons of flash player installed on my computer.

I'm using firefox on windows vista

What can I do?

I'm sorry you've encountered this problem.  Can you please try installing from the appropriate stand alone Windows installers located here:

Installation Problems - Flash Player - Windows

Chris,

It did not work. I tried to open the installer, and it says the installer encountered a problem and is shutting down.

Should I try this in safe mode on my computer? Not sure where to go from here.

Can you post the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?
