I have downloaded Adobe flash player and whenever I gonna double click on the file to install the flash player, it ask me to choose a program and I have no clue which program to choose to run the setup? Well, I am using a Windows XP based desktop computer [superfluous link deleted by host]. Can anyone help me out..?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Usually that happens when the file extension is incorrect or missing.

Example: install_flash_player.ex or install_flash_player (with no extension) and it will look different than the Flash installer.

Wrong icon (worng file name)                and right icon (right file name)

As an exe file, Windows will not ask you to decide what program to use.

If you cannot see the file extension:

Open a window of a folder.

    Click Tools and Folder Options.

Under the View tab uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.

    Click Apply, then click OK.

You will see the extension and you can determine if it is not right.
