What's the reason for this?

If I try and update my flashplayer via the update service in Windows it looks for update information from here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/15/xml/version.xml. Which says that the latest versions are 167 and 152.

But if I run the command to update with the FlashUtil I get 189?

Why the difference? It's very annoying.

Hello,

Some releases are what referred to as silent releases, and some are loud releases, although most are silent releases (normally only about 4 per year are loud).  Silent releases are updated via Background Updates, if users have opted into Background Updates.  Loud releases are announced via a Notification window and are not installed silently.
