Hi Amit:

As I said, this was an ongoing issue when a FrameMaker document with Jump Back (previouslink) was output to PDF. From memory, it was in Fm 2019 and 2020. Here is the report I filed in 2022 which was marked as fixed: https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/FRMAKER-11900

So, my first question is, where did you test it? In FrameMaker or in Acrobat? Oh, now I see that you are testing it with a 3rd party product in a browser window. Third-party applications don't always do things the way they

How is it constructed in FM? That might give you some idea of why it's failing in the PDF.

I used the command 'jump back', and it is working file in FM. I don't know why it is not working in PDF.

I would suspect that PDFs don't natively support that - you'd probably have to edit them post-production with a tool like TimeSavers or something like that.

If you are creating the hyperlinks like this:

... I can confirm, that it doesn't work. I am not any wiser than you in this respect - I was expecting this command to work.

Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro, enter the Edit mode, and double-click the Go Back button. What do you see there?

Hi Amit:

This is why adding interactivity to to a PDF can be problematic. We can't control what PDF readers our clients choose to use. Only Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader provide reliable results. If you're publishing your PDF online, you might include a note letting people know in advance, and include the link to download Acrobat Reader.

Hi Amit:

Remind us what version of FramMaker you are using, exactly. This was an ongoing issue, but I reported it and I believe it's fixed in the most current version.

Well, that is the latest version. I'll go check, but I won't be near a computer for about an hour or so. I'll swing back though and let you know.

Third-party applications don't always do things the way they are supposed to, and of course this is on them, and not on Adobe. I think your next step is to download Acrobat Reader, which is free and test the link there.

If it's still not working, then come back and let me know exactly how you're creating the PDF. The bug that I was referring to in my first response was definitely fixed. This is something different.
