I'm currently using a Wacom Intuos with Fresco 3.8.1. Yesterday it was all good, but today whenever i "undo" a blotch appear mid screen as if I just made a dot with my pen. It looks like which ever brush I'm currently using. It happened occasionally before the update too but now it happens almost every time, I'd say problably 80% of the times I Ctrl+Z. Very frustrating and it makes the drawing experience extremely disruptive. Anyone else having this or a similar problem? Any ideas towards a solution?

That's so weird. And you didn't accidentally tap the screen with your stylus before making whatever changes that required the Ctr+Z? Is there a way to replicate in video?

Thanks for your response, Dave! I'm confident I did not tap it accidentally. I attached a video in which it happens several times. I first thought it was a pixel brush problem but it seems it also appears with the vector brushes. It seems to happen maybe half a second after I press Ctrl+Z and the dot appears wherever my cursor were at when I started the stroke. This too puzzles me since the pen sort of replaces the cursor when I'm using it. To straighten out the setup; I'm on my desktop computer using a drawing pad and a keyboard. I also have a mouse connected, using it sparingly when drawing in Fresco though.

Do you have a Wacom mouse sitting on the tablet, in addition to the pen? It looks like a second device is providing input but just sitting in a static position. I have seen behavior like this in Photoshop, so just wondering.
Before the blotch appears, and while you're drawing, it appears there is a second device cursor just sitting there, right where the blotch appears.

I have a mouse connected to my computer too, yes, although this has never been a problem for me before. And with all the other programs I'm using the pen replaces the cursor and I have a seamless expericence switching between pen and mouse. This has worked for Fresco too up until this update.

Now I've tried to move the cursor with the mouse to the edge of the window so it doesn't show on the drawing area and then started to draw and the issue still occurs. Only difference is that the blotch now appears where the cursor first came up when the pen hit the drawing pad and now the cursor does not show when I draw since the pen tip has essentially replaced the cursor...

Very strange. I'm not able to duplicate anything like that on my Windows machine. I recommend you go ahead and submit a bug report - click the gear icon in the upper right, open App Settings and choose "Help," then "Report a Bug."
This should open a new mail in your mail app, properly addressed and including system information about your installation.

Do you too use two different sources of input (e.g. one pen and one mouse)?
The problem still occurs for me after the latest update, thinking about reaching out to customer support.

I have the exact same problem too and it's pretty exasperating - random dots being added everywhere on my drawing...- and I'm using a xencelabs tablet + a mouse. I'm really curious to see if you get an answer from customer support (I never got one before) and what the solution will be.

I believe its due to windows ink being enabled... While this is enabled pressing/holding control will work simular to a click/draw... without windows ink removes pen pressure and I havn't found a way to fix this yet

That may be it...I don't use Windows, so I don't know.

That was a good idea!
Unfortunately, I tried disabling Windows Ink, and I'm still getting these random blotches every time I type Ctrl+Z (with a shortcut button). Maybe I'm missing something or my config isn't how it should be but it didn't seem to have solved the problem 😞

I chatted with the support team about it and they seemed as if they were on to something at first, only to come to the conclusion that my drawing pad is faulty since the problem doesn't occure when my drawing pad is not connected. I tried to tell them that I really do not think so since a few more people with different drawing pads have the same problem, that the problem is exclusive to use in Fresco and that it started to occure after an update, but they were really not that interested in looking further into it, I was just directed to the bug report tool...

Oh no.....
Thank you for trying Hanna.
I'm afraid we're going to continue to have this issue and I must say I'm a bit angry about that ...

I also have this problem and it only happens in Fresco.
It has something to do with my mouse cursor.
The only work around I found was to move the cursor with my mouse onto the left/right sidebar of Fresco (off the artboard). If you have two screens and you place your mouse cursor onto the second screen, it will create a spot randomly on the artboard. Weird....
Fresco needs an update to fix this bug
Hope this helps

Interesting that this has been getting reported for quite a few versions now. I'm testing in Version 4.2.0 with what I believe would be the same devices. I've tried all things which others have suggested as a fix in reverse to try to replicate the problem and I'm not able to create a random spot when using ctrl+z to delete lines.
So I'm thinking it has something random to do specific devices and internal hardware or software versions combinations rather than what is turned on connected or touching another device,

As of today (3/2/2023), I am experiencing the same thing. I am using Windows, and a Huion tablet.

Everything up to date? I know I had issues with Huion drivers and it's pen tech. Not with Fresco, since it's not available on the Mac
