I understand that Fresco is available for Windows desktops but not for Mac. Best thing any of us can suggest is to keep an eye on the System Requirements. Other than that we can't give you any insight into Adobe's plans for their software and which OS they plan to have it released on or when.

I've asked that a lot, especially with M Series Macs that can use iPad/iPhone apps. They are aware of the requests though, so it's something that we might hopefully see soon.

Hi @siliconmana @Cleo92,

Thanks for reaching out. Fresco on iPad generally uses a touch interface, which is why Fresco is not available for Mac desktops. Many functions on Mac are not possible using the trackpad or keyboard in Fresco.

No doubt, Mac desktops are more powerful than iPad. The only limitation is touch displays on Mac.

As of now, there is no plan for Fresco on macOS. Therefore, I would Would you mind upvoting this request here (https://adobefresco.uservoice.com/forums/919786-adobe-fresco/suggestions/43358298-support-fresco-on-...) & stay tuned for updates.

It sounds like you are not aware that there's a Windows version of Fresco, on desktop. I use it on my Windows desktop. That's why it's particularly illogical that there isn't a Mac version, other than it's designed to drive iPad sales.

Absolutely the dumbest thing. You can still use tablets with Macs! I was hoping to use this with my tablet on my mac but now that I find it's not available here I'm strongly considering getting rid of my subscription. I'm not gonna buy an iPad just for this. It's essential for Adobe to consider what it's users actually want and you guys are showing taht you don't really care about your users time and time again. Honestly getting tired of paying you guys when there are plenty of alternatives out there that are shaping up to be just as good as your products or better for less money.

Hi Anshul,

Thank you for your response, but I have to say that your explanation doesn’t make much sense.

As digital artists and designers, we use professional graphic tablets and touch displays with styluses — devices that are far more advanced than an iPad in terms of precision, size, and functionality.

Could you please clarify why my Wacom Cintiq Pro, for example, would be considered “limited” compared to an iPad, when on Windows the exact same hardware works perfectly fine with Fresco?

It would be helpful to understand the technical reasoning behind this decision, as the argument about the lack of a touch screen on Mac simply does not hold up when professional artists are using external hardware specifically designed for this purpose.

Looking forward to your clarification.

Best regards,

Martín

Hi @Martín Caezza,

I completely understand your frustration, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective. You’re absolutely right—many professional artists rely on devices like Wacom Cintiqs and other high-end graphic tablets, which provide a drawing experience that often surpasses what’s possible on an iPad.

The decision not to bring Fresco to macOS has been a complex one, and I understand that the explanation about touchscreens may not fully address your concerns. While Fresco was originally designed for a touch-first experience, we know that many artists use external pen displays and tablets on Mac, just like on Windows.

I can assure you that our team is aware of the demand for Fresco on macOS, and we are continuously evaluating feedback like yours to shape future development. If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to upvote and comment on the UserVoice request here. The more engagement we see, the better we can advocate for changes internally.

Thank you again for your patience and for being part of this conversation. I’ll make sure to pass along your feedback to the team.

Best,
Anshul Saini

I've been scratching my head on this one. I have PCs, a Mac and an iPad Pro.  I have Photoshop and Illustrator on all of them, but Fresco is not on the MacOS. The lack of touch isn't an excuse as I use a Wacom Cintiq with the PC and Mac.  I use quite a bit of hardware as a game developer and artist (but not a game artist), so the idea that the input can't be easily remapped is silly. Along with the lack of Fresco on the MacOS, on the PC it tends to pick up the mouse cursor (that problem has only 1/2 been solved.) Overall, it seems like Adobe is only serious about Fresco on the iPad, despite it being a great program and great part of an overall art pipeline. If it was fully baked, I might use it more that Procreate on the iPad and Krita on the PC / Macs (I hate painting in Photoshop.)

Hello Anshul,
I hope you're well.
I do not understand why Adobe have not developped it for MacOS, I'm sorry but you cannot say that there is a lack of touch-enabled parameters on a Mac, as most creatives would use a device like a Wacom tablet to work alongside their MacBook just like I do. I really hope that they will develop it.

Try Rebelle 7 pro for the Mac. It's a really good alternative. If Fresco was available on MacOS I would use that - Adobe has foolishly forced us to find alternatives that will gradually turn us away from the Adobe eco-system.

Case in point, me, a graphic designer and illustrator with a macbookpro that has photoshop, illustrator, indesign, premier pro etc......, looking in to getting a Wacom so that i can illustrate on a larger screen than an ipad.....and yet.  This is crazy. Professional designers looking to integrate illustration into their already Adobe-heavy desktop to find they have to move to an ipad to draw? Make it make sense.

it's a shame to notice that adobe doesn't care for desktop mac users. Should be a priority to develop this kind of software for every system. It's so dissapointed for us.
